Le Corbusier designed the Swivel Stool (LC8) in 1929 with Charlotte Perriand for the Salon D' Automne in Paris. Le Corbusier is considered to be one of the most important Modernist chair designers and architects of France. As a strong advocate of Modernism, Le Corbusier created a range of lounge chairs that expressed his ideas with great sophistication. Many of these are still in production today and are popular for commercial and residential use.
The Le Corbusier Swivel Stool (LC8) represents the designer's interest in exploring the structural possibilities that would be available when using tubular steel. The swivel stool (LC8) is constructed with a polished chrome-plated tubular steel frame and an upholstered seat cushion.
Made in Italy.
