Le Corbusier LC1 Basculant Sling Chair - Genuine Leather & Chrome Frame - Mid Century Modern Design for Living Room, Office & Lounge Spaces

Le Corbusier’s LC 1 Basculant Chair was designed in 1928 with the assistance of Charlotte Perriand and Pierre Jeanneret.  With inspiration from an English Officer's Chair, the LC1 was a chair that broke with past elements such as padding or excessive fabric.  Instead Le Corbusier’s modernist approach chose to show all aspects of the frame, arms, seat, and back. 

The back on the LC1 tilts on a steel rod that runs through its back providing support to the user regardless of the sitting position.  Cords running under that seat hold the seat firmly in place, but also provide elastic comfort.

This LC1 Basculant is handcrafted by craftsmen in Tuscany, Italy.  Each component is carefully made to an exacting specification ensuring that you are receiving an accurate reproduction that you will be able to enjoy for years.

Materials: Upholstered armchair with tubular frame. Chrome-plated or lacquered. Seat and back in hair-on-hide; armrests in hide. Natural hide colors come in combinations of black, white, and/or brown. Color combination and representation will vary with each hide.
